163324 No.2102

The new year is a great time to try out new things. Otters are the most beautiful animals, and having a place to share our love for otters with each other and with the whole world is a delightful thing.
When Otterchan launched in February of this year, it was intended as a new home for anon.cafe/otter/. Since then, the site has had a steady base of loyal regular posters who have formed a lovely unique community. Unfortunately, very few anons are interested enough in otters to come here regularly. Many people do love otters, however, and an active community of otter enthusiasts already exists in the world. That's why I believe Otterchan still has a lot of potential, and it's ready to fill a more significant and more suitable role beyond being just another 'chan'. It can be an open platform for all otter lovers to share in the love for otters - something that, until now, doesn't exist anywhere else. So to establish this website as the universal otter discussion board, Otterchan will be available at otterchat.net from January 1st.

To help people learn more about otters is also a great mission. Through learning about otters, people come to love and appreciate them. The best way to share the love for otters is to teach people about otters. For that reason, I am very happy to announce a new website that shall help people gain deep otter knowledge quickly and reliably.
Otterwiki is a collaborative project to gather the world's knowledge on Otters and otter-related topics. otterwiki.net will launch on January 1st. With your support, I pray that it can become a true success and a beneficial source of learning about otters.

I am very excited about next year's adventures and hope you are, too!

Will there be any functional changes to the site as a result of the shift from Otterchan to Otterchat, or is it just a rebranding?

No, the site will remain the same overall.
